Connor Brooks Named Top Student Athlete in VT DATE: 11-05-2014

November 5, 2014

The Vermont State Athletic Director's Association (VSADA) recently announced that Connor Brooks of Hartford High School was selected by the VSADA as one of the five top scholar-athletes in the state of Vermont.

And if that were not enough, Connor was then chosen as Vermont's top male scholar-athlete and will represent the state at the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrator's Association (NIAAA) Section 1 competition and become eligible for a $1500 scholarship given to the NIAAA Section 1 winner.

A national winner will be selected from the eight NIAAA Section winners and receive a $2500 scholarship and recognition as the nation's top scholar-athlete.

Connor's selection as the Vermont winner of this award will be recognized at a banquet hosted by the VSADA on Monday, November 10, at the Sheraton Hotel in Burlington.  He will be honored before approximately 300 of the state's top athletes, coaches and AD's attending the annual VSADA Student-Athlete Leadership Conference.

Connor was selected for this honor based on both his academic and athletic resume.  Judges were impressed by his selection to multiple all-league and all-state teams in soccer, basketball, and baseball, as well as a GPA of over 4.0.

Criteria for the award can be found at the NIAAA website:  http://www.niaaa.org/niaaa-awards/niaaa-student-athlete-scholarship/

Congratulations to Connor, his coaches, his teammates, and his family!
