Learning Outcomes
& Performance Indicators

Science

There are four Performance Based Learning Outcomes for this content area.  They are:
  1. Patterns: Observed patterns in nature guide organization and classification and prompt questions about relationships and causes underlying them.
  2. Causality: Events have causes, sometimes simple, sometimes multifaceted, and often the way an object is shaped or structured determines many of its properties and functions.
  3. Systems: A system is an organized group of related objects or components whose size, time, and energy scales and their proportional relationships affect stability and controls rates of change.
  4. Energy and Matter: Energy drives the cycling of matter within and between systems and both energy and matter are conserved.
