 1.  Call to Order 

Changes, Additions and Approval of the Agenda 
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Christiel at 5:00 PM.

Moved by Mr. Merrill, seconded by Mr. Heavisides to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.

2.  Appointment of New Board Member to fulfill the remainder of Russell North’s term. Sarah Campbell was nominated to fulfill the vacancy created when Russell North vacated his seat. Mr. Merrill moved, econded by Mr. Heavisides to appoint Ms. Campbell to the vacant school board seat. All in favor, motion carried. Ms. Campbell read and signed her oath of office.  

3. Retreat Topic – The District’s Work for the 2023-24 School Year

District Administrators will outlined the focus of their work for the school year by providing an overview of district goals that center on creating a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for all our learners. 

Changes to special education rules and regulations, the implementation of a MTSS (Multi-tiered System of Supports) and our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work will be incorporated in our presentation and discussion. 

4. Mr. Merrill moved that the board have an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing a student record 1VSA 313(a)(7) and the evaluation of a public employee (1VSA 313(a)(3). The Board moved into executive session at 8:10.

 The board came out of executive session at 10:23. No action was taken.

5. Mr. Merrill moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:25. All in favor.
