School Board Subcommittees
The Hartford School Board establishes subcommittees to handle specific tasks or areas of responsibility. The following subcommittees are currently active.

The Finance Committee routinely meets to discuss any financial matters of the district, and reviews the audit annually.

The negotiations committee meets to discuss matters related to negotiating their assigned union contract.

The policy committee meets to review and discuss current policies that need to be updated and prospective policies that the district should have in place.

To augment the statutory responsibilities for the annual Town and School District meetings that are specified to the Town and School District and their respective officers, there shall be a School and Town Meeting Committee that shall organize, arrange, and provide for the comfort, presentation, publicity, program, refreshments, entertainment, and other nonstatutory aspects of the Town meeting cycle, such as Warrant Information Night and School District Day meeting.

The Superintendent Search Committee is charged with interviewing candidates presented by the search firm McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C, and advising the Board as to which candidates should move forward in the process.
